This flyer contains most of the information you will need to know about this year’s USA Wrestling - Ohio tournaments and other wrestling events. Athletes must have a current USA wrestling competitor’s card to compete.

Important Notes
* Greco for 8U through 12U will be at the Dublin Coffman and Canal Fulton NW qualifiers only.
* Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all qualifiers and must be done online.
Weight classes are set up for 8U – 12U athletes. Madison block will be used to pair if there are not enough wrestlers in a weight class.
* Age division birth year and weights can be found on the USA Wrestling website at usawmembership.com/age_group_weight_chart
All Registration forms MUST be signed by a parent/guardian if the wrestler is under 18 yrs old

3. WRESTLING COMPLETION TIMES ARE DEPENDENT ON THE NUMBER OF ENTRIES AT EACH TOURNAMENT.
4. COACHES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A USA COACHES CARD TO GET ON THE FLOOR. Tournament Directors will be responsible for ensuring compliance. Coaches’ cards will be scanned upon entry to the event.

Qualification Procedures for State Championships and 16U and Junior National Teams
1. Qualification is required for the 14U GR/FS, 16U Men and Women GR/FS, Junior Men and Women GR/FS State Championships. To qualify a wrestler MUST finish one of the Ohio Qualifier Tournaments or being part of a State Freestyle Dual team (there is a cap of 20 team members per team). Contact Wendel Donathan (937) 307-1110 regarding medical waivers.
2. The 16U/Junior Greco-Roman and Freestyle State Championships will be used as qualifiers for the 16U and Junior Fargo National Teams – men and women. See www.usawrestling-ohio.org under “National Teams” for more details on the selection process.
3. Qualification procedures for the Ohio 14U National Dual Meet Teams will be posted at www.usawrestling-ohio.org under “Dual Teams”.
4. Qualification for the Women’s Fargo teams (s) is at the State Tournament.
Registration, Weigh-In, and Competition Policies and Procedures
1. ALL WRESTLERS MUST PRESENT A CURRENT FULL MEMBERSHIP USA WRESTLING COMPETITOR’S CARD AT REGISTRATION FOR EACH TOURNAMENT. Cards are available online at www.usawrestling-ohio.org (Visa or Mastercard required).
2. All coaches must have a current USA Wrestling coach’s card. Cards are available online at www.usawrestling-ohio.org, or through clubs for $60.00. All coaches cards must be purchased online (They CANNOT be sold at the tournament) and will require a USA WRESTLING BACKGROUND CHECK BE COMPLETED. Please plan TWO WEEKS for the completion of your background check!!!!! A CURRENT USA WRESTLING COACH’S CARD WILL BE REQUIRED FOR MAT ACCESS AT ALL USA WRESTLING - OHIO EVENTS - only Coaches with current USA Wrestling Coach’s Cards will be allowed on the mat. ONLY CURRENT USA WRESTLING COACH’S CARD HOLDERS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FLOOR AT THE STATE GRECO AND FREESTYLE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
3. Female wrestlers may compete with male wrestlers in all Folkstyle, Greco-Roman, and Freestyle competitions at their own risk. The only exception to this will be the Women’s Greco and Freestyle State Championship where a separate Women’s Division competition will be held.. At the designated qualifiers, if women want to compete in the Men’s bracket they must select this at registration. Women may NOT wrestle in both the Men and Women’s brackets at tournaments where both are available.
4. National Federation scholastic rules (with appropriate USAW modifications) will be used for all Folkstyle tournaments.
5. UWW rules with USA Wrestling modifications will be used for all Greco-Roman and Freestyle tournaments. Traditional scholastic bracketing with double elimination for all participants will be used if there is a bracket of 6 or more. If 5 or less, then round robin pairing will be used.
6. Separate red and blue singlets or reversible red/blue singlets with underbriefs are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED at all GR/FS Qualifier Tournaments and are REQUIRED at all GR and FS State Championships.
7. THE USE OF SHORTS AND T-SHIRTS IN PLACE OF A SINGLET IS NOT PERMITTED FOR ANY COMPETITION.
8. Wrestlers are NOT required to wear head gear. It is encouraged to wear it however.
9. The decision to wrestle in the 16U or Junior Division MUST be made at the time of registration. Combination of weight classes/ divisions may be necessary once pairing starts to enable matches. If an athlete does NOT want to be moved into a different weight/ division that must be stated at registration. There will be NO combination of weights or divisions at the state tournament.
10. Wrestlers may wrestle in two age divisions, if they desire, for an additional entry fee. Matches will NOT be held up once their 15 minute GO time has been reached. If the athlete is not available it will be a forfeit.
11. The USA Wrestling Rapid Weight Reduction Rule will be posted and strictly enforced at all USA Wrestling - Ohio events. Any athlete engaging in or individual assisting an athlete in prohibited weight reduction practices will be suspended for the event in question. A second violation will result in an automatic one year suspension from all USA Wrestling sanctioned events.
